Outside Reading- Psalm 91

Psalm 91 is a chapter in the bible that describes how God comforts those in time of disease, terrors, and disaster. Verse 9-10 says that, “if you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.” Centering one’s life around God will result in the promised protection from the evils of the world. Knowing that He’s there to comfort me helps when I feel lost or unbalanced. The last verse of the chapter says that “[God] will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation (16).” Learning how to walk with God requires a strong relationship with Him. If we keep ourselves focused on God, the reward is the best we could ever imagine. All the hardships and ridicule endured will be worth it in the end.
