Topic of Choice #1: Quote to live by

"There's always a rainbow after the storm." I have lived by this quote ever since I could remember. Through thick and thin, I would recite this in my head. Every time a tragic incident comes into my life (the storm), I refuse for it to take control. Instead, I hold my ground and fight through the storm because I know something worth while will be waiting at the end (the rainbow).

I know a lot of people who have a quote that they live by and I think it's quite interesting. How can simple words get us through tough times? How come some words resonate well with me, but not with others? I think for words to gain powerful meaning, it needs to be paired with a significant experience/event. The reason my quote won't resonate with others the way it resonates with me is because they did not experience what I did before I heard this quote.
