Topic of Choice #2: Giving my body a break

Who doesn't love naps? If you came up to me in high school and asked me this question my hand would have shot up before you even finished asking. I was not a big napper at all in high school; I often found myself occupied 24/7, and if I did have down time I scrambled to find something to do. At the time, I thought taking naps was a waste of time. Fast forward to now, I am an avid napper. I now see napping as giving my body the rest that it needs. Prior to college, I fought against my body telling me I was tired. Freshman year has definitely been draining and I have come to realize that I can no longer fight my body. Taking naps helps refuel my energy and reorient my mind. Upon waking up from my daily naps, I feel well rested and ready to go. It is important to listen to your body and I'm glad I'm doing a better job of doing so.
My next mission is to give my eyes and brain a break from my cellular device. I often find myself checking my phone every five minutes, even if I didn't hear a ring or buzz. I also pull my phone out and tap through it without purpose when I'm unoccupied. I'm trying to be better about not being handcuffed to my phone, but it might take some time. All I know is that my eyes definitely need this break. Hopefully by the end of the semester I can publish a blog post that shares my techniques for limiting screen time.
