Landscape of the Sacred

When Belden Lane and his wife went to see the Mountain that was God, he was taken by the beauty and the natural nature of the place that we wanted to leave a gift, but soon realized he had nothing valuable to give that could reach the level to this magnificent place.  A thought came to mind, “But suddenly came the absurd and happy thought that I could leave my blessing, if nothing else.” (Lane 96) This is the first thing that came to mind when I read this and it reminded me back in my home country, Cameroon. When family friends come to visit , they would bless our home before leaving because physical things such as money is not always as precious as someone blessing someone else’s home and everyone living in it. And Lane tried to think of something physical and material to give but did not because this sacred place deserved more than just some clothes
