Outside Reading- 1 Corinthians 13

1 Corinthians 13 focuses on love being the greatest. It describes how without love we are nothing and have nothing. The best part is verses 4- 7, “Love is patient, love is kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does no rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” These verses demonstrate how someone who has God’s love should act. On twitter I saw something where a mom told her daughter to replace the word “love” with her boyfriend’s name. Ideally the sayings should match his behavior and if they don’t then he’s not the type of person to be with. This tactic applies not only with boyfriends, but also with friends and yourself. The more we act and love like Jesus the closer we become to him.
