Outside Reading #2

Another interesting trial journal that I found:

This entry is made by a couple on their honeymoon; it seems that the husband wrote it primarily. This is towards the beginning of their journey and the first time they are experiencing bad weather; they had some issues keeping the rain off their packs but it did not deter them from hiking. Even though they were experiencing bad weather, and it was suppose to get worse as the day went on, they were still thankful to be there and thankful for God. They appear to be very religious people, and went on the trail to connect closer to God. Some would say they are an example of those who are hiking to experience a spiritual journey in its entirety. They could’ve chosen a tropical destination for their honeymoon, but they chose the Appalachian Trial instead because of its reputation for spiritual journeys.
