Outside reading #3: Interpreting the Bible

Studying the Bible is much more than just reading the text. Without interpretation, there is no sense of meaning/connection. In class we discussed how taking setting into account provides more meaning. Understanding the context of the text is important. I feel that interpreting the Bible in your own way is important. When I read my Bible I often read a verse and it either automatically resides with me, or I have to sit there and think about what it means. I have learned that studying the Bible can be difficult at times and it requires patience. The feelings I have after reading the Bible is indescribable; I am in a much better mood and more loving and open.
