“The Longest Journey: Southeast Asians and the Pilgrimage to Mecca”

This book takes a specific viewpoint on a specific pilgrimage. It illustrates the history of the common Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, however, from a specific region of the world. Islam is common in some Southeast Asian countries, such as: Indonesia, southern Thailand, Brunei, southern Philippines, and some more. People don’t tend to think of Southeast Asia as an Islamic region of the world, but Islam is more prevalent than many think. People from the aforementioned countries aspire to travel to Mecca at least once in their lives to go back to the holy land.
