Personal Topic 3
I’ve noticed that there aren’t a lot of areas that are truly
all natural. Forests have trash in them. The ocean is becoming more and more
polluted everyday. Specifically, where I live, (Aldie, VA), trees and forests
are becoming neighborhoods and shopping centers. Which, I guess is great for
the economy and all, but is the economy more important than the earth? I understand
that housing companies aren’t necessarily thinking that way, but there are
plenty of areas that are being destroyed daily to accommodate for the growing
population. Too many wetland areas are being wiped off the map, too many creeks
being drained, too much de-forestation in general. An interesting point to
think about is: When we cut down trees and essentially get rid of a forest to
make homes for humans, we’re pretty much taking homes away from wildlife. Why
is that okay?
