The Phenomenology of Prayer #1

The story at the beginning of Chapter 1, page 13 about the little boy saying he was praying and asking God for Gelato was so innocent and pure and reminded me of when I was a little kid I would pray for ice cream or little things like that. It made me think about how different everything is when you grow up.  A little later in the chapter it says, "to give thanks is to praise God for the good things I have received". That sentence made me think about how we shouldn't just be thankful for good things, but also after bad things happen and we have time to reflect and learn how it made us better or stronger in some way.
