The Phenomenology of Prayer #2

"...it can clear the way for action or be a reflection on deeds past." People pray for multiple reasons, but most of it is centered at the heart, through passion. One does not pray about something or someone they do not have heart for. At night I lay in bed for minutes on end, reflecting on my day. I do not mention every little thing in my nightly prayers, but I do have my list of passions. The one thing I include ritually is thanking God for yet another day of living and breathing. I also make sure to thank him for always being there for me and doing all in his power to keep me moving forward. Mentioning my loved ones in my prayers is also a must.

When I am at mass, I pray for forgiveness. I confess all that I feel is hindering me from creating a stronger relationship with God himself; having a relationship with God is something that is near and dear to my heart. My family will forever be in my heart. Walking this earth and living a blessed life is something I cherish. People pray for the things they are passionate about and this is what I pray for.
