Topic of Choice: Family

While I love the independence I get to experience at college, I often find myself being alone. Being alone isn't bad, I've learned to love and embrace it. I also find myself acting differently at college than how I do when I'm at home. Because I've been surrounded by my family for the past eighteen plus years, I have been so comfortable with them, I feel that no matter how good of a relationship I create, it will never compare to that of me and my family.

When I have the opportunity to go home and visit them, it feels like I never even left. Our inside jokes are still alive and still make everybody laugh. Being reunited with my sister, who I consider to be my best friend, is rejuvenating. While we still text and call each while I'm at school, being able to talk in person is so much easier and more comfortable than texting.

While I do love being close to my family, they get on my nerves a lot. They also disagree with a lot of my views and that sparks tension at times. I greatly enjoy spending time with my family, but I enjoy the independence that being here gives me just as much.
