Topic of Choosing: Reincarnation

Buddhism is an extremely popular religion that believes in a cycle of rebirth. Buddhists in Tibet practice a ritual that illustrates this cycle of rebirth. The ritual is called Jhator, or sky burial, in which Buddhists take the corpse of a human, usually at very high altitudes, and left on open ground. The Buddhists believe that the soul has already moved onto another realm, so there is no need to preserve the body after death. Scavengers such as vultures quickly dispose of the body after it is cut into pieces and spread around the ground. This is strange sacred ritual, common for Tibet, but represents strong belief in reincarnation.
